Disc Notes
Take Me Higher is one of the first tracks to be released from the upcoming Higher Dawn album, setting the tone for a wider collection built around movement, atmosphere and emotional lift. The track opens gently, grows across the first minute and gradually expands into a brighter, more cinematic middle section. It gives an early glimpse of the album’s direction, blending late night drive energy, sunrise horizon warmth and a strong sense of release.
The sound also carries a retro hardware character, with warm synth textures, classic drum machine style rhythms and subtle sampler grit giving the track a nostalgic electronic backbone. It feels like vintage studio gear meeting modern production, glowing rack units, old sequencers and analogue warmth shaped into something polished, expansive and forward moving.
As an opening release, it works as a statement of intent, reflective at first, then increasingly uplifting, offering a first look into the sound and mood of Higher Dawn.
About the sound
Martin Paul’s sound is shaped by a love of electronic music and retro hardware. Take Me Higher carries that same sense of movement, late night driving, sunrise skies with progressive EDM with warm synth textures, drum machine energy and subtle sampler character.
As AI assisted music is now part of the creative landscape, just as synths, samplers, drum machines, DAWs and Auto Tune became part of the sound of their time. This project explores AI assisted music production as part of a modern creative workflow, with original direction, arrangement and release curation.
Influenced by melodic artists like Lane 8 and the wider world of atmospheric electronic music, Martin’s approach is personal rather than polished for the sake of it. The track reflects a love of synths, sequencers, drums and old studio hardware, while still aiming for something modern, uplifting and full of forward motion.
